Hello all,
I figured I would give you guys a few pointers about the WRS mod, in case some of you haven't ran the mod before, and may not know what to do with some of the minor issues.
First off, the WRS stands for Weekly Racing Series, and it was based off the local type latemodels that run around the U.S. and Canada. The carsets in it are mostly from the West Coast, and old NASCAR series like the Southwest Tour and Northwest Tour.
Secondly, once you install it, you'll probably want to delete or replace the old options.cfg that is in it. When I made that mod years ago, I accidentally left my options.cfg in there, and it causes some issues with paints not being able to show properly on newer computers and other small issues like that.... but you can put an options.cfg in there from another mod and make your settings how you normally do.
Third... although the mod is mostly a low poly single car mod, it does have different dashes for some makes of cars. I tried to keep that simple, so they go like this:
wrsc.car = Chevy dash
wrsd.car = Dodge dash
wrsf.car = Ford dash
wrsp.car = Pontiac dash
Sorry to the Toyota fans... the mod was made before Toyota started running in NASCAR.
And last, but not least... setups and AI for North Wilkesboro aren't in the mod, since that mod also came out before the North Wilkesboro track came out for Heat.
Some of you will probably want to provide some setups for others to use at that track (I'm sure DaveO will help with that) and if you need some AI to practice with, I'm sure some of the guys around here can help you, or you can make your own... since its pretty easy, if you follow this thread at The Mod Squad:

If you guys have any problems, other than those mentioned here, just ask. You can ask in here, or even at The Mod Squad... either one.
I hope you guys enjoy racing with that mod at that track.
I figured the track would be a good one to use, since I have seen it being used online a few times already and haven't heard of any real issues....plus, with North Wilkesboro now reopened, it was kind of fitting for this Heat Festival.
